Yi is a text editor written in Haskell with a funcitonal editor core, keybindings, Emacs, Vim, and Cua emulations provided by default,Vty and GTK+ front ends and more.
I like that there are many different ways to edit texts as it makes my life easier when working with other programs or when writing scripts for instance. It's very useful to have so many functions and features built-in if you're using this just for simple editing of plain files (texts). The interface can be quite complicated at first but once you get used to how things work, everything becomes much simpler. You don't need any plugins because most of what you want comes standard with the program
Pros
High quality images.
Good customisation abilities,
Easy file sharing via FTP sites etc
Cons
Some parts/functions could come in more handy than they currently do now
I like that it's free for personal use only (no business version).
It has all of my favorite features from other editors such as syntax highlighting or auto-completion which makes coding so much easier! Some things can be improved though but nothing majorly bad about this software at least not yet anyway haha :D The interface could look better maybe some customizability would help too? Maybe an option to change colorscheme etc.? But overall great tool!! If you're looking into using any kind if
Pros
Syntax highlightning is helpful when writing different languages in various IDE'S/text editor programs..etc :)
Cons
Interface looks pretty bland compared with others.
Not many addons available especially ones made by users themselves :(
I love the fact that Yi has everything you could need to write code. I've been using it for about 5 years now and have never had problems getting anything done. It's so easy to pick up even if you're not very familiar with programming. There are a lot of useful shortcuts and features just waiting to be discovered! Also, there's a built-in debugger. I really can't think of too many things I didn't like about this program.
It has everything you'd expect from a modern IDE. I would highly…
Pros
It's very useful for a variety of purposes
Cons
There's nothing really wrong with Yi, it's a great program
