So; They're great for layering over black fabric maybe? This is a dyed fabric. We bought these to keep our chairs 'new' but the fabric isn't protected enough to keep the color from rubbing off. It has worn down the same way on all 4 chairs and the bench - this has nothing to do with seat patterns on the chairs or anything. Don't use anything other than black unless you want it to be black.

Beautiful chair makeup, easy assembly, almost looks like soft black lambskin. Bought these to cover/protect fabric lined dining room chairs. I removed the screws that were on the underside of the chair's wooden seat cushions, covered them with them, and then screwed the cushions back on. Voila! New look, easy to care for. They had a chemical smell on arrival but that faded over time.
