Description of 🧡 YLI Soft 60wt Touch Cotton Thread Combo - Natural and Grey, 1000 yd

100% Egyptian Extra Long Staple cotton processed in the USA. Soft Touch is a very fine cotton thread Use it for quilt piecing and bobbins. Soft Touch is a thin cotton thread used for quilt piecing because it doesn't add much bulk to seams and the economical 1000yd spool goes a long way. Neutral Soft Touch colors blend with many quilt fabrics. Soft Touch is also used for bobbins - especially for embroidery - because bobbins hold more yards of thinner thread and the economical 1000yd spool goes a long way.

Machine stitch for sewing

thickness is the wrong word. It is very thin and is ideal for very dense machine quilting and subtle machine appliquΓ©s.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent embroidery machine bobbin

I use it both as bobbin thread on my embroidery machine and for hemming a thin veil for a three thread edging, and my serger makes both handkerchiefs and altar cloths.

Pros
  • Soft Touch is also used for bobbin thread, especially for embroidery, as the spools can hold more yards of finer thread and an economical 1000 yard spool makes a world of difference.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

excellent for machine embroidery

This is an excellent thread for use in bobbins for machine embroidery projects. YLI underwear thread was better, but since I can't find this item anymore, this thread is the next best thing.

Pros
  • 100% extra long staple Egyptian cotton processed in USA
Cons
  • Doubtful

Not durable and not worth the money

This was recommended to me by another seamstress in the Facebook group, but after trying to use it on a few projects it kept breaking and is practically useless for machine sewing of any kind... waste it not your money. I had to know the price and stick to my guns if I were only going to buy the high quality thread from the famous brands I've used and trusted for years.

Pros
  • Soft touch neutral colors coordinate with many quilting fabrics.
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
