Universal case as advertised. Only for a week but the new machine immediately eliminated the ghosting present in the old machine despite the new toner cartridge. The landing was tight, but not tight. With 6 years of remanufactured/remanufactured toner and drums for my HL2170w, I don't expect to print 21,000 (3% page coverage) pages before the unit fails. Most likely 7-10 thousand. It fits my old Brother HL-2140 printer perfectly. The old drum was past its sell by date and I didn't want to pay a lot to replace it as it is a VERY old printer (which works great). I also bought 2 packs of toner to replace the old one. Works great! Very important. Definitely recommend this brand name that costs more than a new printer.

I've been using EZ Ink toner and drum units in my Brother HL-2170W since I got it a few years ago and they seem to be holding up well. According to my setup printout, I've only replaced the drum (DR-360) twice and printed over 39,000 pages, so that's impressive. I came back here to write this review because I'm buying another one, so this is my vote of confidence.

After a few pages I had a nice even print. I'm typing fairly consistently and after about 300 pages the yellow drum light started flashing whenever I was typing. Now at just under 500 pages it's still flickering and the pages come out with an overall light print and very uneven density across the page. Tried a new toner cartridge just in case that might be the problem, no change. That's a lot less than the print life I've had with previous drums.

Although the original purchase started printing poorly after about 3 months, the seller was quick to respond to my warranty request and promptly sent me a new one. However, the exchange failed after 7 months, and the exchange was re-arranged. I have been using printer drums from this brand for several years and I am completely satisfied. I believe this is a fad and I will continue to use this seller.

My Brother HL-2170 left black spots on the left edge of every printout about every 3 inches. I assumed it was caused by the toner cartridge I bought. I didn't think I had a problem with the drum as cleaning the drum didn't work. I replaced this drum and put the half used toner cartridge back in and perfect prints came out. I've only been using this drum for a week but I'm very impressed. It works great unlike the V4 brand drums I tried last year. I was hesitant to buy this based on my experience with V4 Ink drums which was awful but decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did! So far it's printing great! I also bought their EZ Ink Toner and use both. My 7 year old printer is working great now so I will refrain from replacing it. Most likely I'll be an EZ Ink customer now.
