Excellent value for money, best alternative to screws

Used these to install a subwoofer and had no problems with the installation, I have changed subwoofers 3 times and they still hold up. A tip is to apply a dab of wood glue or something similar before screwing it in. They hold without glue, but I always play it safe.

Pros
  • Provides heavily machined threads in softwood
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

These little things work GREAT!

Wish they were a little longer to bite into more material. They must be of different lengths for different applications. But in general, these little things kept me from buying all the new doors (12) for the house. All of my interior doors have fallen off their hinges due to the chipboard material used. I removed all of the striped screws and installed these small fasteners and then used 8/32 machine screws. THEY ARE COOL! CELEBRATION!

Pros
  • Great for pine, plywood, bondboard and MDF
Cons
  • Not sure

It's annoying. good for speaker attachments

If you intend to use them to attach speakers to a box then the speaker hole cutout must be perfectly square. You will need to use a router and jig to cut the hole. The hole should be as narrow as possible to provide enough wood for this insert. If you are using them to mount them from the inside so that the speaker is pressed against the baffle you will need to use a drill guide to keep the drill bit perfectly perpendicular to the speaker baffle or the hole will be disabled and the screws will…

Pros
  • Vibration extendable male conical thread
Cons
  • Some bugs
