I'm not sure if it was because of the smell but my cats refused to use it. I had to switch to a clay box before I could buy another brand.

Does the job but has a few flaws. First, stepping on it is almost as bad as stepping on glass. That hurts! In addition, my vacuum robot cannot vacuum up dirt because it is too big. It clogs it and then it stops working. I only received this as a temporary replacement for my tariff while it was out of stock. It's also more expensive than my typical litter.

This type of crystal filling is very similar to another "blue" crystal filling. It has very similar characteristics but is very different in one category. The "blue" crystal fill is virtually dust free, while the ZenKitty crystal fill is very dusty. When you pour it into the bowl you really have to step back so you don't inhale the dust.
