I bought this for my DSLR but the weight is too much for my feet so it just falls forward on the table. It's a Nikon 5300, so I'd say unless you use a lightweight point-and-click pocket camera, stay away from this thing.

works well with my small canon pocket digital camera. Not strong enough to hold my Canon DSLR upright well enough to trust. I didn't wrap it around the branch but used the back of a chair. The tripod plate easily attaches to the camera to hold it.

I should have looked carefully at the dimensions. My mistake. However, it seems very cheap and really good for some light point and shoot. The ball head doesn't hold anything heavy. The basic version is good, but I wouldn't trust it with anything expensive. I have a mini joby module and it's much better, but it doesn't have a basic version, so I bought it.
