No assembly required, well made and reliable. Folds up for easy storage. It's a little bigger than I expected so my arms are a little higher than I'd like when using it on the couch (which is what I bought it for) so I'll get an extra pillow to elevate my body a little for more comfort. I need a lap table so I can read comfortably in my chair without having to balance the tablet on my stomach or hold it where my bifocals require it. Yay! The legs of this table are well locked and stable. Too wide to fit between the armrests of my chair but they still fit perfectly if I use them skillfully. The surface is very smooth for writing and the groove keeps all my screen devices upright as they should be.
