Light, beautiful, functional.

Light, beautiful and inexpensive. Easy to put in and take out with a water bottle, but keep the bottle safe. Like it a lot.

Expensive but good for sport

Aluminum's advantage over carbon is that you can squeeze the aluminum cage to hold a water bottle tightly without it flying off, especially on gravel roads.

Pros
  • Humidification
Cons
  • Interval

Looks great. but. good for hydration

For some reason this cage is not very good. Yes, it looks great on my bike and it says "Zipp" BUT once the inside of the cage wears a bit it starts chewing on your bottles. I now have black spots on all my bottles and the inside of the cage looks bad. I have now found that I need to find some with a rubber coating to prevent this from happening.

Not for Camelback bottles and behind saddle mounts otherwise perfect cage

I have had two of these mounted on road tubes for a couple of years. Impeccable performance, despite the discarded bottles (camelbacks), holds fine bottles from the purist, Zipp. Installed one behind the saddle on a tricycle, put it in an Xlab stock bottle, ran for almost a season and ended up breaking the top grip finger. At your own risk, to be honest, as Zipp specifically mentions that these frames are designed to mount on highway and mountain tubes. One star off for throwing away camelbackโ€ฆ
