this saved my $300 jacket with a busted zipper from being thrown out entirely, hence my big thanks . But there are small flaws if I could give 3.5 stars. Main issues (some functional, some just annoying): 1) Eventually it came loose when I pulled hard. I saw someone who had a solution where they wrapped it in heat shrink tubing to prevent this from happening. Got one of these to extend the life of my coat. It has lost the zip (it still had a zip on it) but otherwise the coat was in good condition. Installation was easy and quick and it matched my black coat very well, but you could tell by the design that it wouldn't last forever. Specifically, it closes like a clip and then locks, allowing the metal loop to break at the top, right where force is exerted when you pull the zipper up or down. This little gem saved me a $65 jacket so it's a winner in my book. However, I was surprised that even though I put it on exactly as directed (along with that little click you should hear when it snaps into place) it went straight into the washing machine. Luckily I found it below and it snapped right back into place. But it's worth one star as now I always have to worry about washing my jacket. [4 stars].
