Solid pedals that look great.

As advertised. Heavy metal pedals. Some people complain that they're a bit stiff and I think they're right, but it's really not that bad. They feel solid and look great, are only slightly heavier than the plastic pedals they replaced, and you can't beat the price. I'm happy.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons

Pay attention to the backs of your feet

I'm not a frequent rider so I don't have the shoes these pedals were probably designed for. When I bought these pedals I didn't realize they had metal studs. I had to stop for a moment. As I tried to put my left foot down, those sharp-edged spikes ripped a chunk of flesh from the back of my left legโ€”it took six weeks to heal. It hurts a lot.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Initially the bearings are too tight and pull a lot. After driving about 200 km, the pedal began to play by 1 mm. After another 100 miles it is so free with rattling noises. Removed dust cap but no removable or adjustable cone, so backlash cannot be corrected or relubricated. Not acceptable if planning to travel more than 30 days.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Durable, easy to install

These pedals were needed as the last two bike pedals I bought broke the same way. Many pedals have a steel frame but use plastic in the connection, which causes the plastic to wear down and the pedal to slowly slip off. This pedal is all steel with gripping pins on the outside edge to hold the shoe in place without tearing the sole of the shoe. I hope to benefit from these pedals for many years to come!

There were only problems with cycling

I wanted one but had problems from the start. Out of the box, one of the pedals just didn't turn well. Seemed pretty tight. I thought it would go away on its own after a few rides, but it actually didn't. The other day I noticed that the left pedal broke. Only one large piece has broken off (about 1 inch of the pedal is missing). I didn't notice it while driving and I didn't really start. Bumps on the pedal are inevitable, but I didn't touch anything significant. Pretty disappointed with thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

Robust construction at an affordable price

Very strong all-metal construction. I wear trail or touring shoes and these pedals hold my shoes perfectly on the pedals of my comfort bike. They are wide enough to spread the weight across the width of my legs. This reduces stress on the inner toes when climbing hills or riding long distances. Satisfied enough to buy another pair for my mountain bike. The left pedal has a knurled axle. Note when installing and removing the pedals: forwards-up-down. I have Zefal Cristophe toe clips (L/XL size)โ€ฆ

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price
