Very easy to maintain

I bought this as a twin to the one I've had for a year as I wanted to upgrade the tanks and install a backup filter. Very easy to maintain, slim design allows installation in tight spaces and is very quiet!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some flaws

Easy to set up, quiet.

Really scary to buy this for my small pond. It took me 10 minutes to connect and was very easy to do, and while it's larger than what I've used in the past, it's easy to set up and connect directly to my 60 gallon patio pond. The fish does not rush in circles, the current is gentle and calm. So far, so good.

Pros
  • Good thing

  • There are cons

First time canister filter buyer so there wasn't much involved.

First time buyer of a canister filter so it was a bit of trial and error. I had to cut the hoses to fit the filter at tank level. Plus, the hoses still kink and they collect dirt and debris faster than the filter itself needs to be cleaned. I also have no other experience to compare this to. However, it definitely keeps my 1/2 full 50 gallon tank clean.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

One of the few true turtle filters on the market.

I have used filters of various sizes from 15G to 75G - Macro and TurtleClean filters are available and sold separately but are physically identical. All are suitable for turtles, although they work quite well in aquariums with fish. First, they have excellent 3-stage filtration with triple filter media: a medium sponge, a coarse sponge over the carbon pads, and a third compartment for biomedia. The device comes with ceramic rings, but I prefer something like the Seachem Matrix for…

Pros
  • Sleek and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
