Zoo Med MagClip Magnetic Suction Review

Weak magnets. Two (2) magnets would not hold a 9 inch 100w heater horizontally in my 20 gallon glass tank, and that without turning on the wave pump.

I've tried everything under the sun including 5 suction cups and zip ties to try and hold the outlet but only 2 of them worked! Never go back to suction cups again.

This product worked great. I read some reviews that said it wasn't a two pack despite the ads. However, I received two separate packages with paired magnets and additional screw holders. Worked great for installing a temporary drip acclimatization device.

They work MUCH better than suction cups. Just make sure you don't over tighten the clip when screwing it onto the magnet. I twisted the clip with the first one I came across and had to send it back! Just tighten until the clip touches the magnet and you're good to go. This will prevent my heater from floating and will improve the look of my aquarium. Love it!

Works well with a set of magnets, one clip screws into the magnet that goes in the tank and the other goes out to hold the ir. It would be better with at least 2 sets of magnets. I wish all aquarium products that use this type of magnetic holder. Suction cups in hard water will become hard and stop working after a while.

Amazing product. I wish they weren't so expensive for everyone, but they're definitely better than suction cups unless you're using them to hold something heavy. It allows me to move what it's attached to without having to get my hands wet. I currently use 4 of these in my fresh water tanks and will purchase more as needed. The purchase comes with 2 separate packages. 2 sets back and front with clip.

The discs that hold the heater to the glass are magnetic MagClip suction cups. They never get stiff or lose their holding power. For me, this is the second and third pair. I love her. I ask Santa to put more in my stocking. I wish they had an attachment that could be used anywhere. I now use tiny suction cups to hold my power heads in place.

While I like the product design with a wide range of clamp sizes the downside is that they are not very strong and durable. For example, the threaded rod of a plastic clamp can be easily removed. The magnets used are not strong enough to hold a weight in a larger tank due to the thickness of the glass used. I have a 55 gallon tank and a 45 gallon front tank and both have glass that is too thick for the magnet to hold a 28" spray bar with two MagClips. Perhaps modifying it with stronger magnets…
