Etherwall wallet; credibility, pros and cons, 2021

Finding Ethereum wallet out of the various wallets and technologies available is quite tricky, always keep your head up and do some readings and also get the softwares from the right channel. A good wallet should be backed by a good regulations, ensure security and provide means for fast transactions while performing your send and receive operations as well as
Etherwall wallet is an open source wallet which was launched in 2013, as an open source wallet which is regarded to be the first ethereum classic desktop wallet. The wallet has two versions, the full client mode and the thin client mode. The former needs you to download the whole ethereum block chain which not only consumes your space but it is accompanied with huge cost for data when downloading. I never go through this huge version there was no need for that. The tint version allows you access same services but your transactions get validated on a remote ethereum node. I was enjoying their services as they allows you store your private keys while using either versions. They also allows you store your coins on cold storage using the trezor one I loose interest on the wallet due to the limitations to mobile devices. I wasn't flexible enough making transactions as I always have to get home.
A hacked version of this wallet was released by some groups and a lot of people fall for it so always look carefully where you download your softwares and wallets. The application is good though doesn't seems trust worthy since after the released of the hacked version. But if this wallet suits you, going for it while you download it from the right channel us a good idea

Pros
  • The wallet develooer s recognized the need for a lighter version of the wallet. So they make one available
  • The have hardware compatibility for cold storage using trezor 1
Cons
  • It has only a desktop application, should be more flexible even for mobile devices
  • They are limited to ERC-20 alone
