Review on Seventh Generation Dishwasher Rinse Aid - 8 oz 🍽️ - 2 pk: Enhance Dishwashing Performance and Sparkling Clean Dishes! by Mike Griffin

Mixed results but clear mind

If you're buying this you're probably using phosphate-free or other "healthy" dishwashing detergents like us and live with the occasional food crumbs and dirty dishes, so compromise for a clearer conscience and a healthier body. In the last 6 months we have switched to clearer glassware and have noticed more and more spotting. We live in Houston so we have water that is considered harder so we understand we will have some level of that. We have used JetDry and other conditioners in the past. I won't lie - they did an excellent job of keeping our glasses and polished silver clean after the drying cycle. But we couldn't stand the smell and taste that got on our food from time to time. So we went without it for a few months until I tried the seventh generation conditioner last week. With around 14 cycles on which this test is based, all of our dishes are slightly cloudier and powdery to the touch after drying. I could even say that there still seems to be food leftovers on our plates. We haven't radically changed our diet or detergents - just rinse aid. Plus, our stainless steel tub reflects the same haze and water stains we've never seen or had before. Doubt due to the high ratings from other users, so I'm wondering if (a) the rinse aid helped loosen old dishwasher dirt that mixes with clean dishes during washing, or (b) the rinse aid reacts with the natural detergent and this causes the appearance of a by-product. So this is the first product I've bought from Revain that I'm giving a '3' and have yet to return.
