good paper and plastic spoons

I bought these when they were on sale. I don't know if I'll buy them again at the regular price. But I've been trying to reduce plastic and I have health issues too, so using washable items isn't always easy. So they're good for when someone wants a cup of custard or yogurt as a snack and they don't have the woody taste of bamboo utensils.

Pros
  • Ideal for parties, BBQs and catered events
Cons
  • I'll write back

Compostable in limited commercial facilities only

I purchased these while waiting to be composted at home. However, I have found that PLA only degrades under very specific conditions, with rare bio-organisms and over a long period of time. As such, they only decompose in certain types of commercial composting facilities. Otherwise they last 100 years. Confound.

Pros
  • Backed by Amazon Basics 1 Year Limited Warranty
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

Fine paper and plastic waste

These spoons are the worst. They break even at the slightest pressure. Forget about eating ice cream or yogurt. When they grabbed the handle, we just pulled out another one. But then they started falling apart on the tip of a spoon! My kids were fishing for spicy bits of food. We simply threw the rest away (composted). This is a security risk.

Pros
  • Commercially compostable. Related properties may not be available in your area.
Cons
  • Slightly dented
