Breaks every few stitches

I'm disappointed in this particular yarn. I read the reviews and noticed that several people had issues with it breaking and I had to take note of that. I was so frustrated with my project that I used black thread instead so I didn't have to deal with constant breaking and rethreading. Unbranded brands are MUCH better.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • So-so

As expected - sewing

My family has been sewing for generations. This yarn has always been something my mother has worked with and that's why I grew up with this particular brand. I was glad to know that I can buy it online as I'm a busy mom and shopping with kids isn't the best (let's just finish grocery shopping). I found it exactly as I expected, we mainly use it for all kinds of patched dresses. Thank you!

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • No insurance

The thread often breaks and runs out

Well that's a good price for a lot of thread. But annoying with frequent failures and blurring. This is by far the fuzziest thread I've used. I use it for masks and white and black thread is hard to come by but I wouldn't buy it for my personal sewing. I donate masks and quantity is more important than beauty. So I need a lot of yarn. But I'm not very happy with its use.

Pros
  • Few competitors

Great value for money - good all purpose yarn

I don't usually buy yarn online but this holiday I had to. Was nervous about the color but the brass is pretty much what you see on screen minus the shine. It still worked great for my project and the filament was very easy to work with - it never broke. If it were smoother, this would be the perfect thread. But anyway, I definitely recommend it for casual hobbyists or beginners.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Functionality

Great sewing help for me.

The reason I use this in my sewing machine is because sewing machines are too fast for the threads you regularly find. I've had less lint in my machines and no breakdowns at all. I know someone who never sews with bobbin thread and he's a pretty good seamstress. You really need a stand to use it, but you can put it in a big jar or whatever as a first method to see if you like it. I also used a safety pin on my machine's spool pin to make sure it was lined up correctly. try it yourself

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Empty

Outstanding universal thread, lasts forever

I bought this (along with the spool holder) for a month's mask making marathon and have since used it on everything from clothing to a large quilting project. I'm new to sewing and I make a lot of mistakes; so much thread is ripped out and thrown in the trash. Given the tremendous value of this monstrous scroll, I feel less guilty about it. The ONLY time it broke for me was when I was chewing through about eight layers of heavy canvas, canvas, cotton, padding and zipper for a tote bag project…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons

A good product. for sewing

After trying different types of lace yarn, this is my favorite. I use this in my serger and it makes a nice stretch stitch. I haven't had any thread breakage issues on the cone as I've heard of a few other brands of cone thread. The only potential downside to this product is that it's a bit difficult to open. The plastic the cone is wrapped in is quite hard (crumpled hard plastic, not soft plastic like cling film). And even though it's perforated, it's quite difficult to grab the edge to remove

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

The thread is strong, does not tear when sewing, does not lint!

Excellent thread, I will definitely buy more! I sew masks so I needed a good all-purpose polyester thread and it worked really well. And it's a good price compared to the regular coils you can find in big department stores. I have an old Janome home sewing machine (almost 25 years old!) and it works great on my machine with no broken threads or excessive lint issues. I use a cone thread holder (Superior Threads brand), although you can probably use a coffee cup/homemade cone holder hack to get…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
