Inexpensive cable of good quality.

I bought this to replace a cable on my 72 Chevy Nova 4 door. It was about 12 inches longer than my original cable but otherwise of good quality and I was able to reroute it and get it to work.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Nothing Here

Item received but no lubrication

New cable received on time. The claimed list is included in the lubricant. Only the speedometer cable remained in the box. There was no lube included. I was looking forward to getting lube too. Can you send it to me?

  • Constant test results

but seemed good quality

3 stars because it didn't fit my 84 k5 but seemed good quality. It fits very well but is so stretched that the part that goes into my transfer case doesn't fit and therefore doesn't show the speedometer, but does when I twist the cable with my finger.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Perfect replacement, great price

This part was over 80% cheaper than a shop speedo cable. Fits and works perfectly in the 1977 El Camino. Installation was easy, the end of the speedo went through the grommet in the firewall and pulled it up to the instrument cluster in about 5-10 minutes. The entire installation took 15 minutes.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Modern

Fairly easy to install on my 1981 Caprice

Fairly easy to install on my 1981 Caprice. It has been found that if you disconnect the old speedometer cable in front of the firewall, the speedometer assembly can be pulled back in the dash just far enough to extend the retaining clip holding the cable. Simply bolts into the back of the transmission on the driver's side. Be sure to fill this cable with lube (I used liquid graphite) to ensure quiet operation. Works as it should. The price is a bit high here, but it's worth it.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Empty
