Arrived quickly and ready to go

We moved out of Covid in a camper van while we were doing a home overhaul. Imagine that the oven does not turn on because of this switch! Installed this replacement and have been toasty ever since :)

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Frequency

Fits like the original: Electronics

Replaced this on my Hydroflame RV but have not used the heater yet. The old switch was intermittent so I think the new one will solve this problem. Update: The heater now works properly, turning off and back on when requested by the thermostat instead of just blowing cold air without turning off.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Availability in stores

Works great in RV parts and accessories

Works great. We were in the camper when I got to 38° and indeed the fan was out of balance and when I took it apart from the outside there was something missing from the paneling. What it could have been was the sail switch. If the fan rotates toward the firebox, there is enough air to cool the burners or the fan is broken. I'm damn smart. 888 Mr HANDY I can fix it. Even a broken heart

Pros
  • Builds confidence
Cons
  • Not sure

Upgraded, works great

My 2014 Atwood 7920-II has never worked reliably. The fan worked but the heater didn't turn on. The old sail switch was tested "good" on a continuity tester. All investigations showed that the problem was in the sail switch, although it passed the tests normally. I received this new derailleur and found that it has been redesigned with a long narrow sail. The new sail switch fixed the stove and it has been working great for a week now. Perfect! So if you have an old sail switch and your oven…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • High price

RV Furnace Fix Good for RV parts and accessories

Over 20 years ago I needed to replace my RV furnace sail switch. Apparently my original sail switch had an intermittent problem. Often he did not complete the circuit properly and gave the impression that he was not broken. The ohmmeter didn't always show a short, but I figured it was because of the way I was touching the test leads. After replacing the oven, it works great. The problem was getting to the sail counter on my van. I had to remove the stove, which involved disconnecting a stuck…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Available in black only

Just what I needed for my RV propane heater

Propane is on or not empty) The sail switch's job is to tell the system that your fan is spinning fast enough and then propane send to ignite. This is done as a precaution so that your motorhome does not catch fire. If your sail switch fails, there will be no signal to fire the propane, so your system will simply cycle on and off. After installing the switch, my heater worked like a charm.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Not for the new style but can be made to work.

This switch will not fit new ovens but can be made to work. In new furnaces, the blade is long, but four times wider. If you have a little ingenuity, you can remove the top cover and swap out the blades. Boom, you've got a fever again. I will say that if you try to use it with a thin spatula it will get stuck in a squirrel cage and become crippled. Used a razor blade to "pry off" the top and it comes straight out. Press the switch when lifting or replacing the lid, otherwise the inner piston…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Damaged

Finally got my heater fixed for $9

After I replaced the propane regulator and then the logic board nothing worked on my Atwood stove. I found a list of the top 20 replacement parts for these RV heaters and the sail slider was second on the list. My heater fan started, I heard the lighter start to burn, then the firebox lit, then went out immediately, the fan kept running, then the igniter started burning again, the stove lit and immediately went out. After replacing the switch, the stove works great for me! It is also remarkable

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Bad experience
