Very pleased with the purchase of this gauge. As an electronics engineer I have used clamp meters before and regularly use Fluke meters which are many times more expensive than this one. DC amps are structurally difficult to measure accurately with clamps (especially at this price point). I checked the current measurement and found it to be around +/- 1%. Not bad for $60! I have used this meter as an AC and DC voltmeter and also as a DC ammeter. For DC amps, I assume it's a Hall Effect meter, but I've never seen confirmation of this. It was good for all three of those uses. Comparing with another inexpensive gauge shows they are the same, so the accuracy suits me. I don't have a method for a true accuracy check. Bought the Elenco gauge on May 25, 2013. It just died on June 15, 2015, only the frequency meter is still working. All other features are dead in the water. Replaced the 9 volt battery with a brand new Duracell battery, still no change. Disassembled the meter to check for overheating of resistors and/or other circuitry on the board or for loose connections.
