Lasted 10 months: Engine cooling and air conditioning

Worked great for 10 months. The fan speed worked fine but turned off completely for about a minute and then turned back on for about a minute. At 9 months, the fan would not turn off at all, even after turning off the truck (2006 Silverado) and removing the key. Unplugging the part will, of course, stop the fan - just in case you panic.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Price

Part failed after 6 months

Good - direct factory replacement for existing 2 plug-in module. Bad - part replacement failed after 6 months (there is no fan speed control - it periodically turns off). now replaced by a modernized single-insert design (we'll see how that works further). Ask seller about return/replacement policy under "lifetime warranty" (prefer return as I don't need another replacement part to fail again).

Not worth the time installing this crap

I installed this on my 2006 Silverado 2500HD in November 2020. The original resistor was set on fire and kept the fan running even with the engine off. It has never worked properly since the day I installed this replacement, but blows air inconsistently regardless of the fan setting (almost as if it were switching fan speeds itself while I was driving). Here I am in July 2021 and it has completely stopped working. This time I am trying a different model from a different seller. It couldn't be…

I can't recommend it for heating

I bought this product because it was a direct replacement. I read the reviews and was skeptical but decided to take a chance. The first didn't work. I contacted the company through their text system. I received a generic response that someone will be in touch with me. I was notified that a new product would be shipped and it was. I replaced it and the fan worked the day I replaced it. I drove the truck again, but it doesn't work again. I was hoping it would take the computer some time to see…

Direct replacement for GM

This control unit was a direct replacement for my 2005 GMC Sierra with automatic climate control. It was easy to replace with no special tools after I figured out how to remove the fan motor using Youtube. The old wiring harness did not have to be cut or spliced as with other ECUs. You may need to consider a different type of control module if your wiring harness is brittle or burned out. I estimate it took me about 45 minutes to get the replacement as it was my first time. I could easily…

Revised - (Fixed my 2006 Tahoe LT with dual-zone automatic climate control.)

Revised 6/18/18: The first unit ran for about 30 minutes - the "30 seconds" it took to get it working . were evidence that it wasn't working quite right. I got another device and plugged it in and it worked most of the time, but kept shutting off abruptly for 10-30 seconds and then back on. I ordered the module from another supplier and now it works 100%. Original: Worked great on my 2006 Tahoe. This is the only part I could find that fit exactly, all the others I found I had to cut into the…

It turned out - how!

I ordered this item because it was the only direct replacement for my 2004 GMC Yukon. Everyone else announced that I would have to cut and splice some wires. I read reviews about it and they mostly talked about a delayed start and how the fan motor would just shut down during operation. Well, all reviews were correct. My device delayed starting when I started my car. When I parked the car, the fan kept blowing for about 5-10 seconds. (I replaced the original unit because my fan motor kept…
