I love the lamp but the packaging was a nightmare, all that crumbled styrofoam is stuck to everything and you can't take it off until it's all wet horrible I'd like another one but I won't be ordering these until I'm sure the packaging has changed.

The lamp itself is pretty but there are some downsides. I bought it based on a blogger post and regretted not returning it in time. It doesn't stretch, so it's pretty small for our nightstands with headboards. It also shines in gold, because the frame of the lamp is made of gold. If you are looking for a soft table lamp, this could be a good one.

The thing is surprisingly strong. Obviously the marble on the bottom adds weight, but the metal parts are also quite thick and well made. It comes with a weird yellow/orange lightbulb, but it's easy to turn off. It doesn't extend as far as I thought it would, and you can't change the up angle as much as I was hoping. This is a good lamp for the price. I like the brass finish, the 'mid-century' look and the round heavy marble base which is meant to prevent 'tipping'. I almost bought a P. Barn lamp for three times the price, but I'm glad I saved dollars. It looks good. They're not bad and they look nice, but they're definitely not on par with more expensive and better lamps. On one of them, the metal knob on the power button was off and wouldn't turn back on, so on the other I just removed it to make them match (there's just a standard black plastic knob underneath, which is easier to turn). The lamp arrived well packaged and fully assembled which is very good. The overall quality is very good. However, I found that the lamp included in the manufacturer's kit did not match the lamp. The base of the lamp supplied is too large (see picture) so the lamp cannot be screwed in deep enough for the top of the lamp to be properly connected.
