I love everything about this coat. I work in a school and spend many hours every week in the cold wind on the playground. This price keeps me warm! True to size too!

Most down jackets are thick. This one is narrow - if you have wide hips it might not fit. I myself like the thin attic. It's for the winter and warm enough for me, but maybe not warm enough for very cold times. It protects well from rain, which I like as we get a lot of rain in the North West. The hood is a must and lays flat when not in use. The rust color is great. All in all a great Columbia Sportswear coat at a great price. Happy in Portland :)

We had a series of chills that made me want to try a longer down jacket. The Mineshaft color sold out a lot and I chose it even though the color didn't look attractive. I can't get over the color of the silt, but that's okay. Not as shiny as in the picture and not quite grey. I would describe the color as mushroom.
