Excellent product suitable for pH testing

I was skeptical at first, read the pH meter calibration guide. You also get what you pay for by using a bucket of water to store nutrients and water for hydroponics. It took a day to really monitor the acidity, thought I was doing something wrong but now it works like a charm!

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Useless features

Fantastic value for money, super accurate.

I love this thing! It is very easy to calibrate and easy to use. Its construction feels good and solid, I would like a small tripod for it as it just sits around and looks dirty. I find it very accurate, I calibrate it once a week.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Temperature and pH accuracy seems reliable

Just got this and tested it. The pH and temperature readings match my other devices. -1 star because the hooks that come with the kit are too small to catch on the edge of my tank. We need to look for an alternative mounting solution.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Very expensive

Inexpensive and accurate

It's been 2 weeks I'm happy with my purchase. I have tested the pH with another meter and strips and so far it has been accurate. If I had to complain about anything it would be that it's 100% battery powered and lacks connectivity, but at this price point that's not a deal breaker for me.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Large and bulky

as good or better than the BlueLab replacement

I have been using Bluelab flow meters and pH meters combo for several years. The biggest problem with their probe is that it cannot be fully submerged in water. This $20 probe is submersible and as accurate as the Bluelab, but costs $40 less. This probe has been used with several Bluelab products for over a year with no problems. I calibrate every 7 days and my probes (on 6 different devices) are always submerged.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Great PH monitor for my hydroponic systems

I think this is a great product. It comes pre-calibrated and I haven't had to calibrate it since I bought my first unit about 3 months ago. I bought 2 more and use 1 for each of my nutrient stores. I've found that being able to see the PH reading without having to disassemble the PH meter saves me a lot of time. The meter comes with a temperature sensor so it provides a temperature corrected PH reading. Overall I think it's great value for the amount of time it saves me.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some little things

PH only lasts a few minutes

The PH reading only lasted about 5 minutes before going from 6.7 (where my tank actually is) to 8.63. Once it hit 8.63, it stayed there until I reset the counter. After a restart it works for about 5 minutes and then crashes again. I had this gauge installed for 3 days and calibrated it every day thinking the sensor was bad. This is not a probe; that's the meter itself. Disconnecting a probe doesn't change the reading if it fails that way. I will return this device as soon as possible. I had…

  • Pretty package
Cons
  • Can't remember
