Didn't fit Swollen 19 mm

Rated for not working for my problem, not the product itself. I have two swollen aluminum nuts, usually 19mm. One side of this nest was too small and the other too big. I kept it as it might come in handy on another occasion.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works great, would buy again if needed.

This is a must have if you have chrome caps on nuts or bolts. Only 4 stars because if you use 19.5mm on chrome caps normal 19mm will not fit anymore as it will deform the cap. This can be a problem if you need to use a crowbar or crossbar to replace the flat without a punch gun.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

A must have if you have a Ford

I bought this because the lug nuts on my 2014 Escape won't fit the stock 19mm socket due to a swelling problem. 20 mm was too big for some. The 19.5mm end on this socket is perfect and will last. Shame on Ford (never buying again) but kudos to CTA for making it affordable. Even though I'll never use it again, it was worth replacing the lug nuts.

  • Good product for the price

Ideal for removing swollen nuts!

Removed swollen nuts from my 2018 Ford Escape with this tool. This worked very well for all but 4 or 5 nuts - I used 20mm to loosen the last few. Nice, cheap and easy way to replace them yourself. Just don't forget your torque wrench! For starters, too bad for Ford for using such cheap parts. But thanks to CTA for the simple solution.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Some nuances

This tool was great

I used this tool to remove swollen Ford Escape mounting nuts. 19 out of 20 failed with a 19mm head. I had to tap on the 19.5mm head to loosen the damaged lug nuts. It worked great! The tool is very well made and durable. Thank goodness the dealer caught the "swollen" nuts before someone flattened the tire and couldn't get the tire off with a wrench! worth the money.

Pros
  • Easy set up
Cons
  • Quality

Worked great removing Ford lug nuts

Ford's horribly swollen nuts. I was able to loosen all of my nuts except for two that were swollen from Ford's technique. I ordered this half size up from the usual 19mm (or 3/4 standard). I didn't have high hopes, but with the help of a crowbar and this gem, I was able to carefully remove the remaining two ledges. As a bonus, it doesn't look like I damaged the outlet. I highly recommend it (your mileage may vary depending on the condition of your cleats).

  • Satisfied so far

This socket saved me some money.

My wife has a 2017 Ford Fusion and for some reason Ford decided to fit a two piece nut. Waste of money but apparently someone at the counter thought this was a great idea. The problem is when you take it somewhere to spin the tires they always use a percussion gun to remove the nuts and put them on. Here's the problem, the impact rounds the edges of the hub and you can't put a regular head on a nut without smashing it in. Because of this, I already had a dealer give me a whole new set of nuts…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Better than ice pack for swollen nuts

This worked great on my Ford's swollen nuts. I tried removing them before I got this tool and trying to remove them with a hammer and nut was pointless. With this 19.5mm head they clogged easily and were able to remove them. If you know your nuts are swollen, don't try to remove them unless you have this tool. I spent as much time removing the one I wanted to remove with the standard bushing as it took me to make 3 whole wheels with that 19.5mm bushing.

Pros
  • Size 18.5mm fits 19mm nuts without chrome cap
Cons
  • Something else

It worked! in tires and wheels

When I discovered I had swollen nuts I bought three different tools each to help me remove swollen nuts. Other tools didn't help. This is the tool that ultimately helped me get rid of swollen nuts. I aligned this tool with the nut as best I could, placed a 2x4 piece of wood on the end, and then used a rubber mallet to slide the tool onto the nut. By attaching a socket wrench, the swollen nut was easily removed. I recommend this CTATools 4221 swivel head with nut.

Pros
  • Flip design provides 2 hex sizes in one head
Cons
  • Requires socket

Ideal for lug nuts and accessories

Purchased to remove the wheel eyelets on a friend's 2014 Jeep Cherokee. were very tight. Many of the caps were swollen. After drilling and removing the third cap we decided to order a new set of grommets and I bought this head just to see if it would be quicker than drilling/removing the caps. DONE THE WORK ON TIME. I didn't have to drill any other covers. Just hit the head with a hammer and use a punch bar with a small extension to unscrew the bolt. Had a very stubborn one and 18.5mm did the…

Pros
  • For use with a 1/2 in. long shank impact tool with extension
Cons
  • Durable
