Everything works and looks great

Everything works and looks great but there was a problem. With the 12V VDD I was only able to get a 2.5V output pulse on the output leg of the sensor. This works to enable the display function, but I wanted to disconnect to generate a velocity input for my CNC controller so I can run closed loop velocity control. It wasn't enough to trigger the sensor on my controller. I used a stronger smaller magnet and adjusted the position of the sensor, but it looks like the output voltage is still limited

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Older model

voltage requirements.

I have bought 3 of these units and now there is only one left before I realize the voltage requirements are critical or the unit fails, shorting out U2 and possibly causing other components I have to fail. Not checked. Neither smoke nor fire just stop working together. To prevent this I added a voltage reducer from 12V to 9.5V DC. The project I added this tachometer to is a home made home generator system using various components from Harbor. 670cc V-twin cargo engine I converted to propane…

  • Happy for now

Just what I needed: Speedometer

Originally posted on a RED device, it probably won't have a "Confirmed Purchase" tag. Blue is the one I bought. For some reason the photos are not showing in the other post? I've seen a lot of questions about this total station so I decided to review it and hopefully answer some of the many questions but before I go too far mostly remember the old adage "you get what you pay for". This is a very inexpensive device that you could pay a few $100 for if it were lab-grade electronics. So keep that…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
