Experimental kit, best science kits and toys

Bought the product as a gift for my son who is 4 years old. Even if it's younger than the recommended age of use, it doesn't matter. I love that my kid and I can do so many different experiments so that they can learn many different things and also have fun doing it together. I love that he says there are over 40 different things to do. Aside from teaching him how we do it, I love that we can spend time together and communicate using it. It doesn't matter what age your child is, they'll be…

  • Some cons

Unclear instructions and lack of scientific explanation of results

We ran all 40 experiments, but overall the set was disappointing. Directions are simple and often wrong. For experiments with litmus in the instructions there is a test tube with a litmus solution. There are only two test tubes in the set. One of them is now filled with litmus solution. The next 6 experiments require a litmus solution and two additional test tubes. Where did the third test tube come from - out of the air? lol Glad we had additional beakers and test tubes from other science kits

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not automatic

Discovery usually has great kits

I buy a lot of Discovery Chemistry kits. Unfortunately it was a bummer and I was working with a 7 year old birthday boy. First, the gold bar that was supposed to contain various hidden gems was just one type. I made this work. Second, its crystals that were supposed to grow didn't grow. He's coming back in two days and NOT an ounce of growth and I'm NOT expecting how upset he's going to be. He wants to be a scientist who brings back dinosaurs and is VERY serious about these crystals. Again, I…
