Description of πŸ”§ Efficient and Precision Counterboring with Drill America DEWA CCBR5

Aircraft counter bore. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of tool holding systems. Counter boring is the enlargement of a portion of a hole that has previously been formed. The counter bore is a two-piece construction, having an integral shank and counter bore-cutter, and a pilot that is interchangeable, which provides flexibility in the use of the tool.

Great Counterbore for Industrial Use

This counterbore truly exceeded my expectations in terms of its accuracy and durability. After I put it to the test, I was impressed by how smoothly it cut through metal. It saved me a lot of time and effort. As someone who uses cutting tools on a regular basis, I can confidently say that you won't regret investing in this counterbore. Although the price point may be a bit steep for some, the quality makes it worth it.

Pros
  • Accurate, Durable
Cons
  • Slightly Pricey

Very sharp and very high quality nozzle

Very sharp and very high quality nozzle. I bought a few of these and all the others had a radius on each of the grooves. It turns out a very beautiful cut at an angle of 90 degrees.

Pros
  • Industrial and scientific
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Suitable for occasional hobby use

The bulk of what I received is a somewhat rough cast steel with dozens of small cast bubbles protruding from the surface. It shows traces of hand finishing and sanding. The cutting edges are fairly accurate and it cuts through mild steel, albeit very slowly. A more serious problem is hole concentricity for the user-installed guide. As a result, the cutting head sits slightly askew on the workpiece, which means that only one of the cutting edges does most of the cutting work. Don't expect it to…

Pros
  • Countersink
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
