Inconsistent readings, laborious calibration

The product is neatly designed, hence it gets one star for that, but the readings are great inconsistent. First, zeroing something is tedious and feels like having to do it every time it's used. The instructions for this are unclear, but you don't usually leave a health bar where you're going to use it - you usually put it away somewhere. So if the instructions say it needs to be reset every time it "moves," assume that means before every use. I zero the scale, stand on it, read it, get up…

Works great when you have a good one!

This device was the best independent test I've read. I love that it's only accurate to 1/10th of a pound compared to most competing devices that only measure in two-tenths increments. Bought one from Revain and it arrived on time. However, one of the pads was installed poorly, causing the scale to wobble on any flat surface I placed it on. Instead of sending it back through Revain, I contacted the manufacturer because they had the best guarantee on lemons. They explained the problem and…

Very inconsistent: body weight scale

If you don't program it at all, it just shows your weight (not calories or BMI), which makes me very happy. Recalibrate, 19 seconds, which I think I should do most days. My (very) old scale had to be recalibrated every time, but it took maybe a second (with a light tap of my foot). This one seems designed to rarely recalibrate, only when you move it (and requires one foot to fully step on it). The problem is that my Roomba in my house bumps into it most of the time. If I get a second one for my

Pros
  • Helpful Hints: Calibration is required on first use. After installing the batteries, place the scale on a carpet-free floor, press the scale to turn it on, and allow it to turn off. Follow this advice if the scale has been moved. We recommend that you weigh yourself and wear the same clothing at the same time for best results. Please note that weight can vary throughout the day.
