Motion detection is good. It's new, so I don't have a battery life estimate yet. The case can be separated on the back to save the battery. This is a pain as the case is VERY tight and almost impossible to pry apart by hand. With no external mount, changing batteries every x months becomes a real chore. One star deducted for this design choice.

pairs are good with echo, but doesn't report motion (even when I'm right in front of it) - which is weird. Ecolink makes a great version of Z-Wave, but the Zigbee version isn't complete, or maybe mine is buggy. The editing options are also clearly inferior to the Z-Wave version. The way it attaches means you have to pull it away from the wall to change batteries, so you'll likely need new tape and potentially damage your wall covering. Not sure if I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. I have several other motion sensors and many smart home devices, so I'm not new to this. The motion sensor pairs well with the Zigbee hub in my Echo Plus and initially detects motion and triggers an Alexa procedure to turn some lights on normally.
