Ease of use for welding equipment and accessories

The Forney plasma torch is very easy to use. It takes a little practice to get a clean cut, but once you dial in your technique it does a great job. The contact tip is a great feature, especially for beginners. Cutting is much easier when you can just clamp the guide and run the cutting head over the guide instead of running the cutting head over the cutting surface. Not the most powerful machine, but good enough for light workshop or hobbyist work as long as you show it the respect it deserves

Sheet metal is the only practical use

This is the first plasma cutter I have ever used. I used to use a grinder or cutoff saw to cut metal. This plasma cutter easily cuts material 1/8 inch thick or thinner. It makes a clean, perfect line. naturally a more jagged cut compared to a carbide blade. It seems well made and we'll see how it performs over time. UPDATE: I've been using the cutter a lot over the past few months. It's great for sheet metal, but that's really its only practical use. You can cut 3/16 inch steel, but it's more…

Great support!: Plasma cutter

I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I will. I bought this after getting my Forney welder and I love it. I had a little glitch when I set it up, it showed low air pressure and wouldn't start or do anything. I checked the air supply several times and finally decided to give them a call. I contacted someone immediately, in less than a minute, and told her what was going on. We answered all the usual questions and she contacted another technician. I lingered for a minute or two and they

Suitable for thin, slow cuts. Nothing more.

We bought this machine, like many others, hoping to find a cheap plasma cutter for the rare occasion we need one. The device was nicely packaged, has good accessories and looks very well assembled. had trouble starting with a 10 gauge, a short extension, or connecting directly to 110v. It stopped after two or three inches of a very slow cut. So instead we plugged it directly into a 30 amp outlet and tried cutting 14 gauge steel again. He cut off four or five inches and then stopped. We have…
