Two 4TB drives failed in 18 months

I bought this 4TB drive to use with my MacBook Pro. I connect it directly USB-C to USB-C, no hub. The first one stopped working after a couple of months - the computer recognized it but couldn't do anything with it. Mac Disk Utility couldn't "fix" it, and the Disk Utility app that came with the drive didn't do anything. So I have something else. He worked longer, maybe 9 months. Don't be fooled, USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1) is the same speed as USB 3.0. Faster speed is USB 3.1 Gen 2. Gen 1 is slower. This drive was easy to set up for Windows 10 and the copy speed was slow, around 100MB/s. With a 3 year limited warranty if copy speed is not a concern, it is very good value for money. However, after minimal use, the drive failed and the format failed - too many bad sectors. If you need warranty service, the phone will not be answered within 2 hours, and your email will not be…
