so far so good EDIT 1 year later.

replaced the vacuum connector after it was damaged and shorted out. Pretty easy to install and still pretty good in durability. He's quite heavy, so he wants to fall off his pedestals. but its weight also gives me confidence that it will hold up for a while. EDIT bought it a little over a year ago and can confirm it still works. It's still heavy, but my sockets hold it up well. I also miss the ability to "click" the cord back in once it's coiled. All in all, this is a good buy.

Much safer than cheap molded plugs for high current appliances (toasters, heaters etc.)

I recently bought an Oster toaster. The molded fork has become too hot. As an engineer, I felt it was too hot for safety reasons, so I looked for a "real" plug. After a few weeks of use, it actually feels cold when running, indicating the molded fork was of poor design (dangerous in my opinion). I've seen similar issues with high current products like this and had to replace the plugs immediately. . Fires have been reported due to these cheap cast plugs. Just make sure you get the correct type…

Quality with clear instructions in English

I ordered another replacement plug which was terrible quality, no brass screw and no instructions so I returned it. Then I found this one for a dollar more. It was nicely packaged with clear instructions on the box. I am an elderly woman with no electrical experience and was able to replace a faulty plug on my Shark vacuum in less than 5 minutes. I would pay double for that. At first I thought I'd have to buy a new cord which would cost over $30 until I realized it was just the plug that broke…

Everything was as expected and easy to install

I read a lot of reviews and I usually start with the negative and read others as well. After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned about ordering this item. After receiving the item, I'm glad I thought the reviews weren't up to par. Pros: Installation is easy and follows the instructions exactly. I mention this because I read several reviews that said otherwise. Yes, "You must remove the white portion of the connector by unscrewing the three screws to remove the connector from the bracket."
