Not as good as original Made in America blades

I really liked the original Gillette Sensor Excel. I've used them for decades, but have been ordering them from Revain since they disappeared from store shelves. Quality is inconsistent, from one blade to another I can get a decent shave with one blade and a painful shave with the next. No fun. The box says they are made in Poland, sometimes from China. In any case, they are far below the original Gillette quality.

Made in Poland - Garbage

I've been shaving with Exel sensor and sensor blades for decades and this was the first time I've bought online. I should have returned them immediately but they weren't needed immediately - I thought the price was too good to refuse. The return period has passed, but I'm here to tell you, don't buy them if they're made in Poland. The blades seem to shave just as well as the ones I've been using for a few months and was ready to replace! Dull, rough on the face etc. I think you should bite the…

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Embarrassing

I have been shaving bees for a long time. This is the best Gillette system on the market. The bad news: According to the Gillette website, this razor blade system is no longer in production. I have never used any other system. Tried many different Mach systems with 3-5 blades and they didn't work for me. The sensor was Gillette's flagship system and led to interchangeable razor blades. I will be very sad when this disappears from the market. The Razor is nowhere to be found brand new at the…

Dull, Dull, Dull: Men's

I usually use Personna Tri-Flexxx razors but they fit me well so I decided to try the Gillette Sensor. From the start, this pack of razors was too boring to allow for more than a partial shave. I'm frugal so decided to use them up but then I got so sick of cuts and a bad shave that I threw away the rest of the razors. I went back to Personna which I like better now.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

Some reviewers report that they are different than what you buy three times more expensive in regular US stores. I find them comparable in every way and at a great price. But I've found that the durability and smoothness of sensor replacement leads - whether purchased from Revain or a US retailer - have diminished compared to what they made a few years ago. However, they are perfectly acceptable for my needs and are currently the only cartridge razor that does a good job of shaving the base of…

Too expensive, found a better solution

Genuine versions of these blades are becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to find. Not happy with the foreign version with the "orange stripe". I recently purchased Gillette CustomPlus 3 disposables (36 packs) from a major retailer in Kirkland, WA and simply slipped the blades onto the Sensor Excel handle. Throw away the plastic handle or save it for your travel bag. Tip: Dry your blades after use to extend their life.

  • Good stuff

  • Useless features

If they lower the price I will buy them again

I received blades made in Poland. I know some people have received blades made in Brazil. I don't know how well they work compared to previous sensor blades because I don't remember, but these blades work really well. This blade might be my new favourite, the Trac II was my favourite, but the blades are way overpriced and the Persona Trac II equivalents are ok but still serviceable. Mach 3 and Fusion both irritate my skin and only last about 3 days on me. I tried Dorco but the quality varies a…

Just glad Gillette continues to make dual products

The Dual Edge is still my favorite for many reasons - just hope Gillette doesn't think about discontinuing this product. I will do my best to provide information for people who may decide to go with a one, two, three or four bladed design. First, try each razor for at least a month and compare the following: 1) Which razor makes you feel good on your face after a month. Most likely, this will be the razor you will use forever. For me, triples and quadruples remove too much and leave my face…

Very simple: Gillette sensor cartridges 10 pieces

I have to agree with some other reviewers on the number of blades in a razor blade unit; Excess. In my humble opinion, with over 40 years of shaving experience and having tried the best product with many blades, strips and more, I have come to the conclusion that the simpler the better. Waste. My face is as clean-shaven as any multi-bladed wagon. I've also found that with more blades, more beard accumulates between the blades and I have to clean them. This accumulation of whiskers has made my…
