Almost Perfect: Aquarium Test Kits

This would be perfect if it weren't for the ugly white suction cup. It destroys the aesthetics of my tank. Luckily I had a spare transparent teat which is very different from the white opaque one.

Pros
  • New to My Collection
Cons
  • Some Shades

Compact, low-profile drop controller. Works perfectly!

I used this in my 10 gallon planter and it works great! My only advice is don't overfill it with drip test solution. Adapting to CO2 changes takes too long. I am water when there is too much of it. I find 15-20 drops ideal. It's also a little tricky to clean, but if you have a small eyedropper you can suck the contents out of the center.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Beautiful, functional and unique. Love it.

This is a beautiful plaid pattern, much more aesthetic than others I've seen. I haven't had to change my 4x liquid yet, but without the use of a dropper I think it might be a bit more difficult than a traditional cleaning design. However, this little extra work every few months (if that is the case) is worth the daily visual stimulus in my aquarium.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Crumpled

Simple, accurate (so far) and inexpensive

I have several different lamps to control CO2 waste. This works fine. Several people have mentioned in their reviews that it is difficult to pour the liquid from the bottle to refresh or clean the liquid. The easy fix is to just use a dripper or dripper to get rid of the old liquid. Like I said, it worked great for me and the size doesn't seem out of place for my 20 gallon tank. Four stars because I haven't owned it long enough to give it five. The time will show.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Very expensive

Elegant and unobtrusive

Very beautiful, elegant. But at first I had trouble keeping the suction cup in place. Turns out he would only stick Tribal on glass. If it's a plastic surface (one side of my aquarium is plastic for the internal filtration system and the opposite side is my CO2 diffuser) it keeps falling off. if it is softer, apply to a clean, dry glass surface and partially drain the tank. Tip for filling the pipette: use a 1 ml syringe. So I'm thinking of using a hanging drop tester over the aquarium instead…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Weight

Easy to fill out and easy to read!

I find it difficult to complete most of the bricks. It was so easy. I held the dropper at an angle, almost sideways, then opened the solution bottle and inserted a plastic dropper to fill the dropper halfway with solution for the first time. The second time I just tilted the pipette, uncapped the 60mL solution bottle and filled it halfway. It's faster and even easier. It's well made and strong. You don't have to worry about glass tubes breaking and cutting your hands. It's very easy to see the…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Almost everything is there
