Great training kite

I am 45 years old and have loved kite flying since childhood. Always wanted to try a two string kite but was afraid to spend $70 or more for one. Basically I knew framed kites I would smash and break on my first flight. This other one is parafoil which means there is no frame. It was difficult to get airborne the first time, but after watching a few videos I felt comfortable with it in light winds. Light steady wind, you use gentle movements for control. Bring it up in winds of 8 to 12 mph and…

The fun I had was worth 10x the price of this kite!

Great stuff. You can't beat the price. It stays inflated at lower wind speeds compared to slightly higher ones. I'm guessing you need at least 10mph wind to get it airborne. But you'll get a lot more fun and agility in 15-25 mph winds. The higher the wind speed, the more control you have. You need air to make the airfoil stiff. When trying to fly and the wind is blocked by buildings or trees; he will fall from the sky. I first learned to fly by lifting it off the ground with the help of a…

Beware of bad reviews!

Great kite for the price! The quality is better than I expected, I didn't have to re-tie the bridle rig and all the stitching was intact. The lines are fairly standard and of good quality. The single purchase costs more than what I paid for the whole set, a lot! There is no need to "untangle" the lines. I gave four stars because the bridle is too high, so the pull/response is a bit low. This is great for beginners. Once I've adjusted the scales and shortened the strings to my liking, no doubt…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to say

This was my first kite and it's not bad at all. I have no experience with them so I came up with this method to get them airborne. First, forget about the strings that come with the kit. Then place the kite on the ground and unwind the cords. Have a weight to hold the kite while you unwind it. When they are all unwound, start with the kite and work your way backwards, making sure the lines are not twisted. You want to get two parallel lines that never intersect. When done, separate them about 3

Inexpensive fun stunt kite with strong wind parafoil

Background: I was once a beginner in kitesurfing. I read everything I could and started with the Delta trick, then bought a 10 foot wide Prism Tensor 3.1. I've gone through the unpack pre-flight routine a few times. But as much as it was 3.1, it was a beast. I made the mistake of letting my wife hold it for a second and she fell to the ground faster than I could say "Be careful." BEWARE in high winds! If you can't handle it, then it's a strong wind! So I thought it would be fun to have a little
