I use regular kiln fired clay and this mini extruder works great! In a way it's a lot easier than the pin-press ones because you're just spinning around and letting the extruder do its job, but it takes a little longer than the pin-press ones. I've actually cheated and just pushed the grip through for it when my tone is soft enough!

I needed a quick way to make long strings of lipstick and this tool saved me! What you see on this cake is the first attempts at 1am to get a cake that was supposed to be delivered the next day. I think with a lot of time and practice you can get very smooth results but it definitely worked. Because the lipstick basically melts in water, it was incredibly easy to clean up between shades.

Bought with intention of using it for ceramic clay hand sculpting. You will want to develop a small technique to use it successfully. First, to maintain the right level of plasticity (moisture) of your clay so it forms well without sticking to itself. Keep in mind that when extruding these thin shapes you have to be very careful about when to re-wet them as they will dry out and fall apart quickly. So far I have used normal ceramic clay. I'm terrible at making soap dough. (Google it, it's very interesting!) I've only made three games so far and I just don't know how to do it.
