Joshua Tree Kombucha Complete Starter Kit: SCOBY, 1 Gallon Glass Jar, Brewing Essentials and Instructions Review

It was a great start to our Kombucha journey. Very easy, with clear and understandable instructions. We made a great first batch and bottled it in 6 different flavors. The nut/staples were of good quality. Our only issue (unrelated to the starter kit) was getting and maintaining the right temperature, so I highly recommend getting a warming blanket as well. We did it and it changed the world.

I wanted to start making my own Kombucha and people on You Tube said they got their starters from Revain. I noticed that there are starter kits and this company has the highest rating. I agree with the reviews. It comes with everything you need from a clip to a thermometer for the included jar. The directions are also clear. I hope I don't ruin my Scoby but if I do I will buy from here again.

I'm a longtime brewer. It's been a year since I last brewed due to moving etc. I love the starter kit but it took 2 weeks from ordering to receiving and my SCOBY died; The pH stays at 6 after 2 weeks in the aquarium. I just want a replacement SCOBY and Revane says I have to return the entire purchase? Shall I return a full gallon of sweet tea with Dead SCOBY in tow? I don't think it makes much sense.

I'm a kombucha fanatic and usually pick it off the shelves all the time. I ordered this starter kit and here is my first batch. So far so good... The directions were pretty easy and I can see a healthy top coat forming. It's a bit difficult to get warm in the winter, but I threw it on the fridge and it seems to have helped. I look forward to trying this. I think this set will pay off after the first batch!

I ordered this for my wife when we realized we were spending too much money on kombucha each month and decided to brew our own. This set includes everything you need to get started except the bottles. It takes a bit of learning, but they have tips on how to do this and an FAQ on their website, so it's very informative and takes a lot of guesswork. The only problem we have now is that we have to convert the container to a bigger one as we use up our kombucha faster than we can brew it!

In general I like the set. It turned out that getting started was very easy. However, it's been over a week now and there's no sign of life, so I'm assuming my starter died. As I am new to this and have some self doubt, the reasons I believe my starter is dead: No new film growth, no sign of fermentation/bubble anywhere, PH has not dropped (tested with strips and meter) , the taste is the same as the day I started using it.
