Hm. I almost gave them back. I don't think they are waterproof. My baby socks are always wet when we get home. Now that I think about it, the larger sizes I bought are definitely not waterproof. Aside from not being waterproof, they are great for short hikes in the woods. They are fairly light and comfortable as you would expect from a foam soled hiking shoe. They appear to be a bit large, which is also great.

They fit well and give good ankle coverage but other reviews put me off that they aren't waterproof so I decided to test them out before letting the kids wear them on the trail. I used a garden hose to mimic a rain shower. The first drops were repelled by the fabric, but very soon the paper I put inside got wet, especially where the suede meets the mesh. They're great but not waterproof. My feet always got wet when there was snow on the ground, even if I was just walking around town on the sidewalk. Silicone treatment didn't help at all. I think they are leaking at the seams at the top. Otherwise they are great but I really wanted the boots to stay dry. UPDATE: After 5 months of frequent use they are gone.
