the zipper is pretty much useless when tying your shoelaces

Merrell has been around for a long time and while I've never owned a pair of their shoes I associated the brand with them Quality and performance, and I was partly right. Build quality is excellent, meaning materials and finishing are top-notch. I have tested all of these boots and can wash them down with little or no sign of wear or damage. performance.fur. By performance I mean they do what you would expect them to. For myself I bought 8 inch zippered boots so I don't have to bend down to tie

Pros
  • Made in USA or Imported
Cons
  • Communication with seller

God bless Merrell shoes!

I bought my original pair of Merrell Moab 2 in 2012 while working abroad and still wear them (about 2 years ago laces through a 550 cord replaced). I went back to work in LE and in 2 years I threw away 2 pairs of 5.11 boots and 1 pair of Armor boots. When I discovered these Merrell Moab "tactical" boots, I couldn't contain my excitement. I tried them on right away and they fit perfectly (size 10.5). They feel just like my original Moab 2, comfortable, supportive and snug enough around the…

Pros
  • HUB: KINETIC FIT insole with extra zonal arch support and heel cushioning
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

High quality, good value for money

Well made boot, good laces, easy to lace and untie without slipping when tied properly. The zipper and buckle are a great help when it comes to taking the boots off. I found that usually every time I put my boots on I would untie and unzip the zipper and then use the zipper and toggle to secure the fit. The waterproofing is so effective that the only part of my clothes that didn't get wet were my feet and socks after working in strong wind and water the other day. The soles don't grip small…

Pros
  • Laces
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

It's Merrell.ofc, they're good

I ordered extra wide because I have very wide feet. Well, these are the first boots I've ever had that really have toe room. I wear them for over 12 hours. I usually buy 13D in size 5.11 and they fit a lot looser than these. Next time I'll use 12 1/2. I had a thread coming out of the seam on the left side, but that's because my boot is constantly rubbing the bottom of my patrol unit. Very convenient. I work in the country. I can't say how they will be inside, like in prison, I had good grip on…

Pros
  • UPPER: Waterproof PU-coated leather and ripstop fabric with waterproof M-Select DRY membrane. Sprayed rubber stability arms for added security and durability
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Most (but not all) good

For the most part I like these boots enough to keep and wear them. Here's what I like: They're light, much lighter than my leather work boots. They breathe so my feet are cooler in hot weather. I have ankle problems and these boots offer enough support to wear all day. You look good. Here's what I don't like: They're awfully hard to put on. Even with the side zip, they don't open wide enough and I have to make a real effort to put them on. It's a struggle every time. Also, the upper lace…

  • Mesh lining

lightweight discreet WOW

I care a lot about the quality of my shoes. But I have to say these boots are the best I've had on my feet since I got my first bondockers in the navy. They fit perfectly out of the box except for the shocks I ordered. it's a whole different job. The laces are the right length, strong arch support. I've already talked about this with my comrades and active duty. I often don't like a product enough for that. The only real issue with the boots was fitting the cushioning insoles I ordered to…

Pros
  • Midsole: Merrell air cushion in the heel absorbs shock and improves stability. Lightweight nylon shank provides flexible support where you need it
