🔧 Metra '07-08 Honda Fit Radio Installation Kit Review

Not sure I just came up short but couldn't find a matching double din stereo. The size/cut of the plastic at the factory just didn't match the spec, so it didn't fit. I ended up sending it back and spending even more money on the SCOSCHE version which worked great. Aside from the double din not fitting, the overall quality was great. This is a very neat looking part that I would fit into my car with no problems.

The temperature controls are incorrectly shaped. This thing has a job. Let the new head unit work with everything else from the factory. It went wrong. After the irritation went away, I hit it with a Dremel sanding drum and knocked off the handle's pivot stops. The knobs still stop at either end of their rotation - giving your air conditioning knobs a macho twist of torque can damage the air conditioning. If it was expensive I would return it immediately. Look elsewhere!

This is easy to install and fits very well, almost perfectly. My only issue is that where the temperature adjustment knobs are there are small plastic stoppers that prevent you from turning the knob too far and they are upside down. That means plugs that should be down are up, preventing you from turning on the air conditioning or adjusting the temperature. I bought this because I needed to fit an aftermarket stereo in my Honda Fit because the factory display died. It took me a long time to be sure it would fit my 2 din stereo but it looks nice. The only thing that bothers me about this product is that it doesn't sit as flush with the dash as the stock product. This dash kit for the '08 Fit works most of the time, but the quality is a lot lower than I was hoping for. The plastic has to be physically cut to accommodate the double din stereo, making the fit messy, and the mounting rails simply snap into the plastic, resulting in a wobbly mount at best. The kit then snaps back into the car's dashboard with metal mounting clips that you have to reuse from the original - which can't be removed and replaced with a good fit - and once it's back in place…

This is the ONLY adapter that will work with the first generation (2007) Honda Fit. Nobody else does. That's why they charge for what they do and not $14 for almost any other car.
