No mounting protrusions. suitable for car AV installation

I received this item and there were no mounting tabs to attach to factory radios. Some of them were made from an old set of brackets I had in my garage. The rest is as is. I wish I could use the flat panel version instead of the one with the bar.

Pros
  • car electronics accessories
Cons
  • reliability

97 GMC PU Universal radio mount.

This bracket is suitable for many modifications. I had to remove the original radio bracket and modify it and this bracket to fit the JVC radio in a massive hole in the dash. I used a drill and some machine screws to hold the mount together, then I cut holes for the handles as shown in the picture to make the JVC fit. After all that and installing the 1x4 board to mount the new radio, the unit snapped into place. I don't see how this device could work without using part of an old radio mount…

Pros
  • Automotive and automotive electronics
Cons
  • nothing

Good product - IF. in Auto Electronics Accessories

This video is for Metra 99-4505. I am using this adapter to fit a DIN radio into a GM 1.5 DIN hole which is a common size for many GM vehicles. I checked Metra and Scosche adapters. I wanted an adapter that would fit the radio in the center of the hole rather than the top or bottom. Some other adapters have an EQ slot and the radio is above which I didn't want. With no equalizer, it feels like something is missing and you haven't bought any of the options available. Some features of this…
