I have been in the repair business for many years. All .

I have been repairing for many years. Everything from pans in electric guitars to changing capacitors. Wick never existed. I took a chance and bought it for the first time after seeing how the wick works on youtube. Impressed. Supplied with rosin impregnated with braid. Wicks are faster than a fat man eating cookie sauce.

Pros
  • Pure copper without oxides
Cons
  • Communication with seller

The wick doesn't work.

I have spent a lot of time trying to find a good quality wick. I spent the extra money hoping the wick would work. I had to dip the wick in the flux every time to pick up the solder. I'm very disappointed that the wick doesn't work without having to dip it in the flux every time. The width is perfect for grabbing solder on the circuit board, but since it doesn't work it's just a lot of whooping!

Pros
  • Manufactured to SPC guidelines
Cons
  • Negative impression

Best product for the job

I repair 1960's car stereos while living part time (I'm retired). This product hits the spot - way better than using "suction cup" solder - when you need to remove a big blob from a circuit board, Weller's manual solder suction cup will get the job done, but when a really clean surface is needed. , nothing beats this MG product. I used to use a Radio Shack solder wick (I had so many) but when it ran out I gave it a try and am ordering more today (10 pack).

Pros
  • Static coils
Cons
  • High price
