Good luck using #6 AWG wire.

Most of these cheap cases have the same problems: - The socket that comes with it is absolute nonsense. It's flimsy, the ports are one of the worst designs I've seen, and who uses Phillips screws on soft metal grommets? Buy a $10 Leviton 279-S00 and pretend there's no escape in that box. If using 3/4" conduit, punch the center of the "knockout hole" and use a 1-1/8" (1.125") hole saw. Anyone who hits them with screwdrivers and chisels should do not do any electrical work.- It is troublesome to…

Do not buy if you don't have a metal cutting tool

They are carved. I've never been so frustrated with a simple DIY job. After searching the internet to figure out why I couldn't get the knockouts out, I worked harder again. I ended up breaking the rivet on the box door before giving up. Destroyed the hole saw and got enough then use a jigsaw blade to finish the cutting job. Added two hours of what should have taken 2 minutes just to remove the perforation. Don't buy this unless you have a very large drill or don't want to spend an extra two…

Extremely complex assembly

Unit arrived with one of the two rivets holding the lid in the box broken. The second rivet failed during installation. This device requires 4 #6 AWG wires. They are not small, they are easy to manipulate. It's a bit tricky to install the ground wire to the provided grommet. Installing the phase and neutral is a bit easier when the output plate is turned outwards. However, in order to rotate the jack to its normal position, these wires must be very short and go to a place where there is no…

  • New Competitors

Bought to power our camper which required 50 amps. The case is good and the socket works, but have fun connecting the cables. Lower cutouts do not come out. I ended up bending the whole case to the point where it finally gave way at the largest hole (1 1/4"), after which I had to use screwdrivers, pliers, and other tools just to take it off. In the process, one of the Pins holding the lid due to the body curve. The back behind the socket is tight, there is no room for an extra cord so make sure…
