I've been using this with Grainfather for a year now. This is the perfect complement to it and should work with most 8 gallon kettles. I don't use it for hop hopping, but it's great for boils and hops.

Cover completely glued. Four of us tried to remove it. It is impossible. Maybe it's a cross thread. If we strengthened it, it would destroy the grid. It was a waste of money. Poorly made.

Not sure if this review violates Revain's review policy and no one will see it, but this product turned out to be what I expected and it was very useful. The only thing I would change is to place the hooks closer together so they fit better on the Brewers Edge.

The lid won't open. At first I managed with the lid, but it was very sticky. Now it's full of blueberries and won't open. We tried everything but sawed it in half. And that stupid chain at the top breaks if you touch it.

Good size and great stay. I wasn't afraid it would fall into my kettle. The mesh is perfect for keeping hop residue off my pumps. Simply pull out, discharge and spray clean. The grate under the frame is a bit more difficult to clean, but it only takes a few seconds to get inside and blast it.

I love the fact that this hop spider includes a chain that's handy for hanging in a keg or fermenter, but it also serves to highlight a serious issue that has been documented by others, the lid doesn't stay, it separates too easily from the main body. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to strengthen the main body and the cover. . . with another great product.

I have several of these dry hopping bins. I welded a tongue to the lid of the barrel to hang from a chain. The chain is more than long enough for a 5 gallon keg, and to hang just off the ground I cut 2 inches off it. So far they have worked flawlessly. - This is the only listing I can find that has the screen in the lid, at least in this price range. The cover fell off or was difficult to remove. Incidentally, during the first days of hops, I set up the barrels twice a day from start to finish.
