Second purchase good for towel rail

I bought this because I already had one installed in another bathroom. This works really well so I wanted another one to match.

Solid Grab Bars - Bathroom Hardware

I ordered 4 of these grab bars to install on the entry/exit side of fiberglass shower enclosures in two houses. I used Toggler Snaptoggles to mount them. Although capacity is limited by the fiberglass shower screen, like mine they are mounted very solidly and serve to have something to hang on when getting in and out of the shower. I cut them to the right length and used black foam crafting material to form the "padding". Look good and get the job done.

Pros
  • Durable Finish
Cons
  • Exterior

Looks like a towel warmer!

We replaced all our towel rails with these after my husband, who was in a cast, grabbed the towel rail when he lost his balance and crushed it. It wasn't the first time. These grips are very strong and fit in exactly the same place. We've had them for a few months now and are very happy with them. The real benefit will come as we get older and our grandchildren try to use them for pull ups! Be sure to attach or use the included anchors.

Pros
  • Same as everything
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

and partly because of poor mounting in drywall or plaster

I have one thing about towel rails: 99% of the mounting brackets on the market that you hang or put on a pole tend to Messed up because they inevitably come loose, partly because the connection between the rod and bracket isn't tight enough, partly because of poor installation in drywall or plaster. A few years ago I spotted a nicely designed open bolt (i.e. direct mount) variant and placed it in 2 tubs in a previous house but it is no longer made. Enter Moen's version. Yes it's a bit hefty…

Pros
  • Very good value for money

  • So far so good

Works very well. offers good support.

My wife's illness has progressed so far that she can no longer stand on her own and even with my help she has difficulties getting in and out of the tub. Almost 5 months ago I plastered two of these railings on the walls of a ceramic-tiled bathtub. I waited so long before testing these handrails to make sure they work as advertised. I installed an 18" grab bar on the bulkhead under the shower head for use when standing and getting in and out of the tub. A second 24 inch bar is lowered on the…
