Quality, Appearance and Functionality

There's nothing quite like solid brass, and with a single screw attachment the cushion can be aligned flush with the door before final tightening. The stops are flat so I had to make a 3/4 inch plywood lift for doors with high sills. them to match the floor.

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Style 90

Not suitable for heavy doors

The metal area at the bottom and where it rises to surround the rubber stop is very weak. If you are using heavy doors of any kind, especially commercial doors, this will not be enough. I broke two of these before buying the larger version from Lowes (the bottom has more height and therefore a lot more strength). They are suitable for light doors, but be aware of the weak point with heavier doors.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Operating speed

This is a doorstop for sale

This was purchased to prevent the bathroom door from banging against the large shower stall bracket when opened, a shackled device sometimes seen in motel rooms. When I bought it I was concerned about the rigidity of the base mount due to the single bolt attachment - would that be enough? When opening the box, there was a big surprise: the description of the device does not mention the protruding stand. from the clamshell portion of the bracket about a quarter inch below the base of the unit…

Pros
  • There is something to it
Cons
  • Minor issues
