Troubleshooting Brake light problem

I recently installed a repeater brake light. After correct wiring and double checking, the brake and turn signal didn't work. The parking lights only worked when the truck was off, but not when the engine was running. After installing this box, everything works as it should and there are no errors.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No automatic

Will not work on 2019 F-150

I installed a tailgate LED light panel on my 2019 F-150 (with tow kit). I connected it to the 7 pin connector. The lightbar works fine, but the truck thinks a trailer is attached to it and disables some of the truck's safety features. This module should solve this problem. It's not like this. The truck still thinks it has a trailer.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some issues

Does not work on lamps and lighting accessories

Did not take the action described. I bought 2 different ones, thought it might be defective. So now $35 for 2 of them. I contacted support, they advised me to flash them. For whatever purpose this module was purchased, do not wire it up and do not remove the factory warranty. So I can have a lightbar and no reversing sensors or reversing sensors and a lightbar. And on top of that, drop an extra $35 for modules that don't work.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Damaged

rejection! for lights and lighting accessories

Tow pack module installed on my 2015 Ford F-150 with tow pack and backup camera parking assist, rear sensors still on and truck still thinks I'm towing a trailer. The light bar was rigidly bolted to the tow plug on the bumper. Maybe the device is defective, when disconnected all the rear sensors turn on again. Other brand lightbars require additional wiring under the dash to provide continuous power to the trailer's 7-pin connector. Either the light bar works with zero rear sensors, or the…

Totally dissatisfied

I bought this unit to get the OPT7 tailgate LED panel to work with my 2019 Ford Ranger. No Bone! The truck knows something about the receiver and will switch backup gauges, crossovers and anything rear related. Be sure to read all other reviews before you buy. The only thing this device did for me was fix the brake and blinking turn signals. My truck informed me that the trailer lamps were defective. I think this is due to a slight delay in activating the LED bar for each function. Simply save…

Pros
  • GOLS certified

  • Definitely bad product

Works - a little, not as advertised.

Doesn't work much. 2019 F150 XLT with Tow Bar and Backup Sensor/Camera. Bought a curt connector/splitter to use the factory 7 pin. Connected directly to the 4 pin and got a blinker error. Kurt installed it, put it in this block, it worked at first, then the blinker errors came out. Like every second on the road. Took everything off, hooked up the light bar to Kurt, then plugged the device back in. The turn signals finally worked but the truck still says the trailer is even connected to this…

  • Sturdy construction

Didn't work with my 2015 Ford f150

Bought an OPT7 LED tail light bar for $100. but it kept throwing tow errors on my dashboard and never worked properly. I contacted OPT7 support and they said I need this adapter to get my truck to just turn on the lightbar instead of towing something. I bought and installed an expensive adapter, hooked it up to my truck battery but to no avail, the problems are still there. I contacted OPT7 again and they said I would need to wire the light bar directly to my tail light harness. So now I have…
