Nice but short lived

Love this scrubbing brush! It cleans hard pots and pans very well and even cleans boiled eggs without clogging the bristles. It has a strange smell when you first use it, but it goes away. I'm a little worried about the durability of the raw wood handle, maybe I'll treat it with mineral oil. Worth a few dollars more! **Update** After a month this scrubbing brush looks pretty ruined. The wood is cracked, the bristles are falling out and the base is moldy. I've had plastic scrubbers that lasted…

Nice wooden handle cracked after 2-3 uses; Bristles straighten quickly

I may have received a defective block, but there was a large crack in the wood of the handle (about 1.5" long, 1/8" wide, 1/2" deep) after 2 - 3 uses. The water will definitely get in and soak the inside - probably not good for the wood. Can't tell if it was my (light) grip or if it was exposed to water. The product does its job well, but what's the point if it breaks after 2-3 uses? Also, the bristles become less stiff and loose after a few uses, making it difficult to clean with this brush.

Moldy, easy to clean, small to store

I was not impressed with this product and would not buy again. Due to the density of the bristles, the base does not receive enough air and light to prevent mold growth. Also, food debris would get caught and slowly move to the base of the bristles, making it impossible to keep the brush clean and free of wet food debris. In general, it was difficult for me personally to hold it (I have average hands for a woman 5'9 "). Of the pluses only a smooth and comfortable grip in the hand and…

It's only been 2 weeks and the handle is already breaking

Really wanted to love this brush! I have two Redecker brushes that I love - a bottle brush and a hedgehog-shaped crumb brush - and I expected this scrubbing brush to suit me just as well. But unlike the other two, this one has an unfinished wooden handle and the bristles are already torn in two places! I don't let this brush get soaked, I leave it on my windowsill to dry in the sun, and I haven't abused it (I don't have a dishwasher, for example, so I haven't tried running it through a washing…

Great powerful scrubber

I've been using this brush for two weeks now and am very happy with it. It sits well next to my sink, but more importantly, it gets the job done! The bristles are surprisingly stiff and clean, almost as good as steel wool, but I had no problem scratching my non-stick cast iron pans even though they were still heavy enough for my bare cast iron. It also rinses out conditioners well so I don't have to worry about dirt buildup. I usually just give it a good spray, but once I put it in the…

just last month, despite oiling before use, a huge crack has formed.

just over a month, although before using I soaked the entire wooden part of this brush in oil, there is a large crack on the side that has just formed. and I just got past the 30 day window - but aside from the wasted money I'm really frustrated that it won't last. This is the best brush I've ever tried in terms of shape and size. other brushes are too rounded on the bottom or the bristles are spread at too great an angle. I think this brush could be more resistant to cracking if they spaced…

A strong scraper for cleaning instruments

This is a strong little scraper. My old handlebar lodge scrubber broke on the handle. I thought I would find something that looked indestructible and found exactly what I was looking for. This works great with my cast iron and carbon steel pans. This blunt little handle will never break no matter how much force I use or if I hit the sink with it to knock the particles out. That's exactly what I wanted. UPDATE: After 3 years of use I had to buy a new one. There was a crack on the brush as many…

UPDATE: 10/10/2016 GOED AWAY

I want the bristles not to come loose when trying to use this on my NuWave oven racks which was the main reason I bought it. It just won't get into the slots where the racks connect. It cleans the bottom of the pan well, but a Scotch-Brite scrubbing pad does a better job on a nonstick pan. I like the pen shape. This makes it easy to hold in my arthritic hands. After reading all the complaints about the wooden handle cracking and/or blackening, I decided to soak the wooden handle in olive oil…
