Fastest External Drive Tested

I have several hard drive enclosures with different hard drives, Crystal Drive labels and Crystal Drive temperature control information. Up until now I've mainly used Samsung Evo 500GB drives but recently received a mission critical mx500 SATA m2 2280 in m2 case with B key from Qnine which was the fastest drive I've had for transferring large amounts of data, around 200- GB files. Sabrent Rocket was about the same speed for the first 100 gigabytes. The second 100 gigabytes of the all-important…

Pros
  • CONSTRUCTION - Ultra-slim, sandblasted aluminum alloy body. Slim, durable and comfortable. Portable yet durable, ideal for on the go.
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Pros and Cons

Pros: 1) Great packaging; It's a small vessel that flips open to accommodate two USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB 3 cables, as well as the flash drive itself. You will not throw away the packaging. 2) It is slightly larger than a classic flash drive. 3) The drive is formatted in ExFAT so it works with both Mac and PC and also with Linux. 4) As for flash drives, the advertised speed is 1000MB/s, but my tests with a USB-C cable showed a maximum speed of 906MB/s, which is still very fast for these…

Pros
  • SUPPORT - Designed to work with both Windows and Mac OS, allowing you to transfer data between almost any computer in the world. Compatible with trimmer, UASP and the firmware can be updated.
Cons
  • So far so good

Fast, Affordable, and COMPACT USE

I'm not one to buy a product without carefully considering the options. This SSD is no exception. I carefully researched other products in this category, embarked on an arduous journey to improve my state-of-the-art storage technology, and finally came to the conclusion which product I need to buy. I was looking for high capacity, fast OUTSIDE storage. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro with 256GB of storage. First I checked SATA based SSDs which are fast but not the fastest. I originally wanted to…
